Crimestoppers asks for help to stop drink & drug driving

Approximately one in five fatal road collisions involve a driver or rider impaired by alcohol or drugs.

As drink and drug driving increases in the UK over the festive season, Crimestoppers is reminding the public that information given to them anonymously could save lives.

In 2024 Crimestoppers received almost 53,000 reports about people who regularly drive while under the influence of alcohol and or drugs. This is almost a 17% increase from the previous year, on average, we receive 125 reports every day around the issue.

Our national campaign aims to spotlight the worrying rise in drug driving and continue to highlight the dangers of drink driving, appealing for people who know about those taking this fatal risk to contact Crimestoppers 100% anonymously.
