The event will be held at the Bonus Arena on 14th February 2019 from 10am until 4pm, not as previously advertised as 9th February.
Differently Abled is an event aimed at ensuring people with learning disabilities, their families and carers in Hull and the East Riding are recognised and supported.
The event will feature a huge range of information stands covering the help and support that is available for people from birth through to end of life, plus much more including activities and health screening.
There is a wide range of support out there, but half the battle can be signposting people to the correct help and support. There will be a wealth of information, from employment through to social activities, all in one place so please share this information and come along to the event and check out:
The Information Zone: Learn about day services for all ages, SEND, social activities, benefit advice, assistive technologies, employment, housing and transition services.
The Health Zone: Get your blood pressure and weight checked, speak to nurses and professionals about health problems such as epilepsy and cancer, discuss medication and speak to a dentist.
The Communication Zone: Visit our Autism and Dementia Simulation Experiences, speak to speech and language therapists, use Eye Gaze equipment and discover what makes a communication friendly environment!
The Carers Zone: Find information on caring for someone who is Differently Abled, and book in for a carer’s assessment!
& much more…
