25th August 2023Driver arrested after he was injured in crash with lorry on busy Hull road.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of several driving offences after he was injured in a crash with a lorry on Hedon Road.
A picture from the scene showed that a car and lorry had collided on Southcoates roundabout, near Hull Prison. The driver of the car was injured in the incident and taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Humberside Police confirmed he has since been arrested. He was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving whilst over the limit, without insurance and without a licence. Motorists were stuck in long traffic queues following the crash at 12.15pm.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said. “A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving whilst over the limit, without insurance. Also without a licence following a road traffic collision on Hedon Road, Hull. We were called at around 12.15pm to reports that a car had collided with a lorry at the roundabout near to the junction for Southcoates Lane.
“The man has been taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for his injuries. We’d like to thank members of the public for their patience whilst the road is reopened.
“We would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision, or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquires. To please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 225 of 18 August.”
