A Hull drug dealer arrested as part of Operation Galaxy is now in prison awaiting his sentence.
Kaywan Karimi, 24, of New Bridge Road, was spotted on CCTV dealing drugs in Pearson Park on Thursday, July 8 and stopped by officers in the area.
He attempted to get away but our officers quickly chased him down and found a number of pre-prepared ‘deals’ of cannabis in his jacket.
Karimi appeared before Beverley Magistrates Court the following day, where he admitted being in possession of cannabis with intent to supply and was remanded to appear at Hull Crown Court for sentencing on August 7.
This week’s activity now takes the total number of people arrested to 741, with 232 charged and awaiting their day in court – that’s 87 arrests and 31 charges since the beginning of this month alone.
Humberside Police are also continuing to proactively target addresses that we suspect of being linked to serious crime.
A 21-year-old Grimsby man has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, following a warrant at a property in Redbourne Road, Grimsby. Officers recovered class A drugs with an estimated value of £200, £40 of cannabis, £340 cash and other drugs paraphernalia.
Two men – aged 21 and 26 – were arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of cannabis following a warrant at an address in Freehold Street, Hull. Following a search of the property and a car linked to the address, cannabis valued at £1,700.
A 36-year-old Withensea man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class B drugs following a warrant in High Brighton Street, Withernsea, where we recovered cannabis valued at £400, along with other drug paraphernalia.
A 35-year-old Scunthorpe man on suspicion of burglary after bikes, power tools and a small amount of amphetamine was recovered from a house in Mary Street, Scunthorpe.
Other arrests this week include:
- A 54-year-old Hull man on suspicion of sexual offences.
- A 39-year-old Bransholme man on suspicion of robbery.
- A 43-year-old woman on suspicion of making threats to kill.
- A 24-year-old Scunthorpe man on suspicion of sexual offences.
