28th September 2020Drugs seized and man arrested in Hull warrant

Officers from our Hull Central team have seized a number of cannabis plants following a warrant at an address on New George Street in Hull yesterday, Thursday 24 September.
Officers visited the property following reported concerns about drug activity at the address. Once inside they found a cannabis grow along with a number of items and cash, suspected to be related to criminality.

Approximately 30 suspected cannabis plants were seized, in various stages of growth, along with a sizeable amount of dried plants and a number of other items and cash.
A 25-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of cannabis cultivation, abstracting electricity and money laundering. He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
Neighbourhood Beat Manager PC Rich Wilkinson said: “This was a good result with a number of cannabis plants seized, that will now never see our streets or be used in further criminality, the cash seizure is significant enough to disrupt the criminal activity at the address.
“We know the impact that drugs, and the associated crime that often comes with them, can have on a community, which is why we are committed to taking them off our streets.
“I hope this reassures the local community that we are listening to what you are telling us and we are taking action as a result of your information.
“If you have any concerns or information about crime in your area please report it to us by calling our non-emergency 101 line or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always dial 999.”
