7th August 2023Job opportunities with Sight Support Hull & East Yorkshire
7th August 2023Exciting opportunity to have your say and improve the experiences of rough sleepers in Hull.
Healthwatch Hull have been commissioned by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to work with the rough sleeper community, and those who support them to understand their experiences of using ambulance services in the city .
The feedback gathered will be used to understand any gaps and issues faced, which in turn will drive improvements in service delivery.
What will the project look like?
Over the next 6 months we will be gathering insights from the rough sleeper community, ambulance staff and local partners to gain a full picture of ambulance access issues for the rough sleeper community. They will do this in a number of ways, through surveys, one to one interviews and focus groups.
At the end of the project, there will be a report produced, with accompanying video that will be shared with key decision makers within YAS.
How can you get involved?
They would love to hear your experiences of supporting rough sleepers to access ambulance services. YAS will be holding focus groups during the last week in August, and first two weeks in September. To express your interest and preferred dates, please complete the expression of interest form here.
- The service would really appreciate your help to facilitate the engagement with rough sleepers, so where appropriate they would like to join you at any activities and services that you are delivering in Hull, so they can talk to the rough sleeper population directly. If this is something you can offer, please let them know by return email.
Lived experience project group
As part of this project YAS are also looking for a small number of enthusiastic volunteers who have previous lived experience of rough sleeping, to help shape the project and support the engagement activity. This commitment will involve attendance at project group meetings (expected to be on a monthly basis) and if the volunteers feel comfortable, they will take part in the lived experience video and will be invited to be a part of an event that brings everyone together.
As a thank you to those who take part in the project planning group, each member will be given vouchers up to the value of £150 for their participation.
