Hope for the Young is a small charity with limited funds which it uses to alleviate hardship and remove obstacles to young refugees and asylum-seekers’ education and wellbeing. It provides both financial and mentoring support.
The charity has set up an emergency relief fund in response to the growing impact of coronavirus/COVID-19, to support young asylum-seekers and refugees during the pandemic.
The funding is intended to support the immediate health and well-being of young asylum seekers and refugees during the current crisis, and to help to relieve destitution and poverty in general.
Groups assisting young asylum seekers or refugees (up to the age of 30) who are vulnerable and in need of immediate financial support during the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to apply.
During the application process, applicants may be asked to provide proof of the young person’s immigration status (eg, Home Office document or a letter from their solicitor).
