Hull: 17-year-old sent to juvenile prison for spate of burglaries

A 17-year-old youth charged with three commercial burglaries in Hull has been sentenced to a 12 month detention and training order in a juvenile prison.

The boy, who because of his age cannot be named, was charged with the burglaries on Wold Road, and two on Hessle Road in March and in April this year.

He admitted to six other burglaries in the city which were taken into account.

He appeared at Hull Magistrates Court yesterday.

The order combines detention along with training and is used for young people who commit a serious offence or commit a number of offences.
