The Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES) is conducting research on the role community and social businesses can play in supporting more inclusive economic growth in deprived places.
We want to explore why community businesses grow/thrive in some deprived areas and not others, and what the critical factors are that allow community/social businesses to contribute to more inclusive growth. We want to explore how support should be shaped to encourage more inclusive growth.
We would like to invite you to take part in a workshop to discuss the community/social businesses support landscape locally and the sources of support you have utilised in starting/growing/sustaining your community/social businesses.
Following the workshop, we would like to invite you to take part in more detailed research, which would involve engagement with your staff and volunteers (via telephone) and us working with you to develop a short survey that can be used with your service users/customers. This will be designed to explore how your community businesses has empowered users beyond being a recipient of goods/services, with an opportunity to add some additional questions of your own.
RSVP
Please confirm your attendance via telephone or email so we can plan the workshop and if you have any questions about the research, please feel free to contact Stuart MacDonald, Associate Director on 0161 832 7871 stuartmacdonald@cles.org.uk
