The 10-year-old boy who sadly died following a collision on Anlaby Road on Monday 19 October has been named as Steven Duffield from Hull.
It was reported that at 6.10pm on Monday, a blue BMW had collided with two boys riding a bike. Both boys were taken to hospital where Steven tragically passed away from his injuries.
The other boy on the bike, named by his family as 11-year-old Mason Deakin, has been in hospital receiving treatment for his injuries since the incident. Although his injuries remain serious, he is now in a stable, no longer life threatening condition.
A 30-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences has been released under investigation as we continue our enquiries.
Steven’s family continue to receive support at this difficult time from our specially trained officers and are grateful for all the messages of the love and support pouring in from the public.
The collision investigation continues and police are still appealing for any information, witnesses or dash cam footage of the incident, or moments prior. Anyone who can help with enquiries is asked to call the non-emergency number 101 quoting log 488 of 19 October.
