Hull: Appeal for witnesses – Can you help?


Humberside Police are appealing for witnesses to a hate crime on Cottingham Road near to The Gardeners Arms public house at around 3.30pm on Thursday, June 29.

The incident concerned threatening behaviour made towards a lady by two white men, believed to be in their 20’s and driving a black Saab. The car pulled up at the side of the road after which the passenger made a gun shape with his hands and shouted ‘Bang Bang.’ The car then drove off in the direction of the university.

Incidents of this nature are considered to be motivated by hate and whilst this is an isolated incident, it can be very upsetting for those involved and will not be tolerated.

“Community Safety Manager Adil Khan said: “Our message to anyone targeted because of who they are is simple. Being you is not a crime – targeting you is and I would urge victims not to suffer in silence but to come forward and speak to us. Humberside Police takes all hate crimes and hate incidents extremely seriously.
