3rd April 2019Hull: CCTV released of suspect in connection with alleged rape

Humberside Police have obtained new CCTV footage of a suspect they want to speak with in connection with an alleged rape in West Park in Hull in the early hours of Saturday 9 February.
Even though the footage isn’t great quality and the person’s face cannot be seen, they’re hoping the video may jog someone’s memory who was in the area at the time.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Nicholson said: “In the moving footage a man is seen running along Walton Street around 3.26am that morning. We’re unsure where he went after that as he could have gone towards the park, town or down Walliker Street.
“We also have a clearer image of a man we want to speak with who was drinking in the New Griffin pub on Anlaby Road on the evening of Friday 8 February between 10.45pm to 1am on Saturday.
“He was wearing a distinctive striped baseball cap and what looks like a light coloured hooded gilet.
“There were at least two people in the pub who were sat near the man, and we’d like them to get in touch with any information they might have.
“I believe it is the same man in the video and in the still image.
“My officers are supporting the victim in this case. This is an isolated incident and not related to any other ongoing investigations.”
