A 15-year-old boy was arrested yesterday after he was spotted trying to steal a motorbike by plain clothes officers in Hull city centre.
The boy was seen by officers from our proactive unit yesterday Monday 18 November on George Street walking off with the bike. He ran off and officers gave chase.
The 15-year-old was detained on Freetown Way and arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. He was also arrested in connection with a burglary at a property on Stable Walk in Hull earlier this month.
A section 18 search under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act was later conducted at an address in the city in relation to this.
The boy is still in custody.
