Hull City Council are recruiting a Support Officer who is committed and enthusiastic to working with customers and colleagues in order to support the Education Welfare Service in its duties relating to the enforcement of Legal Sanctions, Children Missing Education, Elective Home Education and the regulating of Child Employment and Entertainment.
Salary: £22777-£24,948 per year
Hours: Full Time
Closing date: 12th May 2023
You will process written legal sanctions and ensure records and data bases are accurate and up to date. You will have the ability to compile clear and accurate reports and be able to present data accurately and documentation suitable for presentation to the courts.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to education, especially for vulnerable children and young people, and preferably have a background in education, in the legal area or other relevant experience and possess exceptional interpersonal skills. You will be required to work on your own initiative and be confident giving advice on the telephone to both customers and partner agencies and to undertake home visits.
You will have a good working knowledge of all Microsoft applications, have a knowledge of ICT Systems applicable in the delivery of Service Support and have good analytical and numeracy skills.
You will have previous experience of working with other agencies, preferably in an Educational setting and an understanding of the local authority’s statutory duties in relation Education and Admissions.
You must have a flexible approach and be able to transport yourself and materials safely and efficiently around the city of Kingston upon Hull.
