Hospice Neighbours is a new service to deliver hospice inspired care to people who are struggling with social isolation and the everyday tasks that have become difficult for them.
Hospice Neighbours

For a while it has been recognised that often people need more support at home, not always in a medical way, but often with everyday tasks like doing the laundry or getting out to do some shopping.
Sometimes the support someone needs is social or emotional as their circumstances have isolated them from their local community. This is where the idea for Hospice Neighbours came from.
A new service
Hospice Neighbours is a new service that runs alongside their existing Friday Friends group held weekly from 1pm- 3pm in the Amy Johnson Community Hub. Dove House wish to recruit a team of volunteers who will deliver hospice inspired care to people who are struggling with social isolation and the everyday tasks that have become difficult for them. The volunteer Neighbours will help with chores, errands and odd jobs as well as trying to encourage increased social interactions with the surrounding community.
If you would like to get involved with either using the service or being a volunteer to deliver the help needed please contact Chloe Bennett, Hospice Neighbour Coordinator on 01482 785758 or email c.bennett@dovehouse.org.uk.
