As part of the Hull Food Strategy Action Plan implementation, the main responsibilities of the role will be to:
- Set up and maintain a bulk food purchasing system for local community food organisations, with a view to developing a food buying co-operative in Hull that will lead on this over time.
- Develop the successful expansion and roll-out of the Food Exchange Platform by sourcing local food growers and community food organisations, supporting them to use the platform and test new functionality to ensure accessibility and usability for all.
The post-holder will also contribute to national and local food policy work and research, coordinate events with key stakeholders and help Hull achieve the Sustainable Food Places Silver Award.
