27th November 2019Hull: Help from member of the public leads to knife charge

A man has been charged with possessing a knife in a public place and causing fear or provocation of violence after a member of the public alerted police to an altercation in the street.
Officers were flagged down around 1pm on Newland Avenue in Hull by the man, who said that two other men were fighting on Marshall Street and one had a knife.
The officers approached the two and immediately challenged them. A man was arrested and a blade was found nearby.
Robert Jackson, 36, of Mayfield Street, Hull was later charged with the above offences. He is due to appear in court next month.
The other man sustained minor injuries to his hand.
