Update from Humberside Police:
Detectives continue to meticulously trawl through mounting information gathered in relation to the murder of Jason Whincup who was attacked on Hessle Road on Wednesday, 31 August, 2022.
The CCTV image of the man detectives would like to speak to has been widely circulated and the appeal to members of the public continues, as Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Nicole Elliott updated: “I want to thank everyone who has contacted us with information about the CCTV image we released, and I would continue to appeal for anyone with information that could help with our enquiries to please get in touch.
“We now have set up a reporting portal which will gives a direct link to the Major Incident Team to report any information – the link for this is: https://mipp.police.uk/operation/16HQ22M03-PO1.
“At this time and from the information we have so far, we do believe this could have potentially been a targeted attack and I want to offer my assurance that we have a dedicated team working significant hours on the investigation and carrying out numerous enquiries, in a bid to find who is responsible.”
A fourth man arrested in connection with the circumstances surrounding the incident has been questioned and released under investigation.
