Hull: Humberside Police making our streets safer for everyone as eight cannabis farms are found and 11 arrested

Message from Humberside Police:-

The Organised Crime and Proactive teams based at Clough Road police station have seized over half a million pounds worth of cannabis, £15 thousand pounds cash and £100 thousand pounds worth of equipment with 11 people arrested in Hull in the past two weeks. Nine of those arrested have been charged and are currently remanded in custody awaiting court appearances.

The properties on Rosemead Street, Waddington Grove, Goddard Avenue, three on Philip Larkin Close, Merchants Way and Roslyn Road were all raided and hundreds of cannabis plants and equipment was seized.

Detective Inspector Richard Osgerby said, “This haul demonstrates how we react to information provided by our communities and the enormous amount of work we are doing to disrupt organised criminality and to combat drugs cultivation in our communities.

“The cannabis farms are being run by serious and organised criminals and are set up in domestic houses in streets where the neighbours have suffered from the antisocial activity this type of offence caused activity.

“Locating these premises, seizing property, equipment and arresting those involved disrupts this very profitable criminal activity and we will continue to do everything we can to bring drugs offenders to justice.

“I make no apology for tackling this type of offending, drugs in our communities have a huge impact on the lives of others. We listen to our communities and we know what concerns them, and we will do all we can to tackle the issues that matter the most to them.
