Supporting isolated people to connect with their community
This project from the Goodwin Development Trust, funded by the Connect Well Hull Social Prescribing grants, aims to provide long term one to one or group support tailored to meet the needs of socially isolated individuals on the Thornton Estate.
Anyone, regardless of status, ethnicity, age or gender who may feel socially isolated, housebound or in need of support for whatever reason may use this service. It is delivered by volunteer befrienders supported and trained the Trust.
They will regularly either visit a person in their home, contact them by telephone or arrange for attendance at groups of interest, whichever is the most beneficial.
