Hull: Man arrested at Bonus Arena

At 9pm on Saturday a man was arrested at the Bonus Arena on Obsorne Street after security staff were alerted to him.  He was reported to be drunk and behaving erratically and claimed he was in possession of a gun.

The arena security removed him from the foyer and the arena doors were locked.  Firearms officers attended and searched the man, no weapon was found.  He was however arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and drugs offences.

63 year-old Christopher Martin Bryne of South View, Main Street, Patrington Haven has now been charged with possession of cocaine.  He was bailed to appear at Hull Magistrates Court on 10 December.

Humberside Police want to remind people attending any public venue that there are strict security measures in place for the safety of everyone.  Security staff at all venues take their responsibility to the public seriously and people should comply with all security procedures.
