Hull: NHS Targeted Lung Health Checks pilot programme

Humber, Coast and Vale Cancer Alliance, NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and Hull University Teaching Hospitals Trust will be delivering a new NHS Targeted Lung Health Check.

People who live in Hull, are aged 55 – 74 and who have ever smoked will be invited by their GP to attend a 20 minute check, and where appropriate will have an immediate low dose CT scan.

The health checks will be carried out by nurses and radiographers on mobile units, which will be sited in publicly accessible places with good public transport, like supermarkets and sports venues, to make it easier for people to attend.  Appointments will be offered at a convenient date, time and location.

If you are a smoker, or have ever smoked, live in Hull, and are aged 55 – up to your 75th birthday, they would like to ask that you participate in a discussion group, which has been set up to discuss how the public experience might be improved, whilst being involved in the Lung Health Check, please click on the link below to attend the discussion group.  Please note no clinical advice can be given at this session.
