Men charged with drugs offences
Working on information received, our officers stopped and searched a man in the Preston Road area of Hull under section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The man was arrested and found to be in possession of a large amount of class A drugs.
A search of a nearby property led to the arrest of another man and our officers seizing further quantities of class A drugs and a large amount of cash.
Drugs recovered were estimated to have a street value of £10,000.
Two men appeared at Hull Magistrates Court this morning following the arrests and were charged as follows:
Mark Andrew Rowell (49) of Bessingby Grove, Hull was charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply.
Peter Hayes (27) of Hawkins Street, Liverpool was also charged with possession of class A drugs with intent to supply and a further charge under the Proceeds of Crime Act relating to £2000 in cash considered to be criminal property.
