7th May 2020Hull: #Op Yellowfin – man charged with handling stolen goods

Message from Humberside Police:-
A man has been charged with handling stolen goods as part of Humberside Police’s ongoing initiative to tackle motorbike crime across the force.
Authorities know from your response to our Humber Talking surveys that nuisance motorbikes are one of your biggest concerns and, as part of #OperationYellowfin, officers have been patrolling areas where you have said you’ve seen bikes being ridden antisocially.

On Monday, 4 May our teams spotted two off-road bikes being ridden in the Orchard Park Road area and traced one of the vehicles back to a nearby property.
Yesterday Joshua Langford, 24, of Orchard Park Road, was charged with handling stolen goods and has been bailed to appear before Hull Magistrates Court on Monday, 15 June.
Inspector Mark Peasgood said: “We know that when motorbikes are ridden in an antisocial manner they can be not only be a real nuisance but potentially dangerous too.
“This is not acceptable and our message to those intent on behaving in this way is simple. Our teams will be relentless in tracking you down, seizing your bikes and preventing you from causing harm to our communities.
“Many of the successes we have had as part of Operation Yellowfin have been in no small part down to information you have provided and we would like to thank everyone who has and continues to support this initiative.
“We have no intention of easing the pressure on those who choose to behave this way and by working together we can make a big difference.”
If you have information about those riding motorbikes in this way, or where they are being stored, please get in touch on our non-emergency 101 line or, if you’d rather not give your name, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
