12th July 2018Hull: Patient Participation Group (PPG) Event
Organised by Healthwatch Hull and NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group
This event brings together people currently part of a PPG, people who would like to join a PPG and GP Practice Managers. Participants will hear from key speakers about the vital role PPGs can play in shaping GP care, learn more about how primary care is changing and will leave with a clear plan for their PPG, whether you currently are part of a PPG, or whether you’d like to join one/start one.
The event will include key notes speakers, time for networking, lunch, a Q&A panel, and a choice of workshops including:
- Setting up a PPG
- Recruitment of PPG Members
- Setting up a Virtual/Digital PPG
- Chairing a PPG Meeting
- What can PPGs do?
The event is being run in partnership between Healthwatch Hull and NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group.
What is a PPG?
For those unfamiliar with PPGs, all GP practices should have a Patient Participation Group made up of patients from the practice. PPGs meet regularly with staff and discuss how to improve services and promote health. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) seeks views from PPGs when it inspects GP practices. Many PPGs get involved in broader discussions about health services for a wider local area, and work together in networks.
