Hull: Public show support for Op Yellowfin by helping catch motorbike thieves

Two 15-year-old boys and a 24-year-old man have been arrested after a motorbike was stolen from outside a supermarket in Hull in broad daylight.

The bike was seen being taken from outside Tesco’s on Hall Road around 11am yesterday Monday 3 June.

We had numerous sightings of the bike afterwards, and information was passed on to us about the identities of those who allegedly stole it.

This led to three arrests and the trio are still in our custody. The bike was recovered.

Log 186 of 3 June 2019 refers.

Sergeant Derek Hussain who heads up Operation Yellowfin in Hull said: “I’m amazed that anyone thinks they can get away with stealing a motorbike in the middle of the morning in such a public place.

“Our officers have been extremely high profile in their work with Yellowfin, which is seeing great success in tackling motorbike related crime.

“Everyone knows we are out there and they know we are getting results. Residents are just fed up with individuals behaving in this way and committing crimes like this.

“I’m really pleased and want to thank members of the public for showing their support for Operation Yellowfin by working directly with us and helping us catch these people.”
