28th April 2021Hull: Reckless motorcyclist sentenced

As a result of #OpYellowfin another reckless motorbike rider has been sentenced to 30 weeks behind bars after terrifying residents on Preston Road, Hull.
Lee Corlass (24) of Oriel Grove, Hull was sentenced on Monday 19 April at Hull Magistrates Court following his arrest on Friday 16 April for dangerous driving and four counts of driving without a license. Alongside his 30-week prison sentence, Corlass was ordered to pay £128 in compensation and disqualified from driving for an 18-month period.
Police Community Support Officer Lee Williams said: “Corlass showed a blatant disregard for other drivers and pedestrians’ safety. He regularly rode on footpaths and into the presence of small children as well as riding his motorbike into oncoming traffic. He was not only putting himself at risk but endangered several members of the community.“
This is a great result for the #OpYellowfin team. Corlass’ arrest came after some fantastic work alongside our partner agencies. “We know we’ve still got a lot of work to do, but our work to tackle motorbike crime and the crimes related to it won’t stop. We will continue to work with the local residents to bring these reckless drivers and motorbike thieves to justice to make our communities safer for everyone. “We’d like to thank the public for their continued support, and would encourage anyone with information on motorbike related crime and antisocial behaviour to contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting Op Yellowfin”
