29th July 2022Hull: Roxy rocks the night shift
PD Roxy provided invaluable assistance to Humberside Police officers overnight as she helped arrest three suspects.
Along with handler PC Young, recent recruit Roxy was called into action at around 11:00pm on Wednesday 27th July, when they received reports of a man causing damage to a property in Southcoates Lane, Hull. The suspect was detained by Roxy shortly after.
Over in the Inglemire area two hours later, Roxy was primed to detain a man who was suspected of assault and damaging a police vehicle.
PC Young and Roxy, who only completed her 13-week training course last month, then joined patrol officers in the city centre where someone was reported to have assaulted emergency service workers. The suspect fled as police arrived, but PD Roxy was able to track them down in an alleyway.
Belgian Malinois Roxy is one of three newly enrolled police dogs, alongside King and Rusty. You can read more about them here.
