5th April 2019Hull/Sproatley: Two police cars damaged and officers injured
Three men have been arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning (03/04/19) following an alleged theft overnight in Sproatley.
Humberside Police received a report that items had been stolen from a garden in the village by suspects driving what was thought to be a stolen white Citroen van just after 1am.
Officers located the van in Hull, and following a short pursuit a police car was reversed into and another was damaged on Greenwich Avenue which resulted in two officers being injured.
The officers needed hospital treatment for minor injuries and are receiving support.
The three suspects are currently in custody on suspicion of theft and dangerous driving. An investigation is underway.

Chief Inspector James Glansfield said: “My officers come to work to make sure the communities we serve are safe. They do not expect to come to work and end up being injured.
“We do not tolerate any kind of attacks on police officers and we take such incidents very seriously.”
