Hull: Update after New Bridge Road sexual assault

A 34-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday 25 January after a reported incident of sexual assault that occurred in the New Bridge Road area of Hull at around 7.30pm on Friday 20 January.

A woman was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her close to the junction with Rustenburg Street. The woman was able to fend off her attacker before raising the alarm.

Detective Inspector Jeffs, of the Humbersdie Police Protecting Vulnerable People Team, said: “A man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of sexual assault. He has been questioned by detectives overnight and has now been bailed whilst our investigations continue.”
