Humberside Police play a key part in the launch of a new Pubwatch scheme in Hull City Centre

Tuesday 28th November saw the official launch of the new Hull City Centre Pubwatch scheme, formally launched by Hull’s Community Safety Partnership (CSP) thanks to funding from the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner.

The Pubwatch scheme is a voluntary organisation which was set up to promote best practice and a safer drinking environment in licensed premises throughout the UK. It is run by the publicans, for the publicans.

Hull is one of the highest demand hotspot areas in Humberside, with one of the busiest night-time economies in the area. Hull’s licensing team, who spend a lot of time out and about engaging with local businesses and understanding their needs, recognised that more could be done to help keep communities safer when out socialising at night.
