Humberside Police still searching for man who stabbed former Manchester United player with fish knife.

Humberside Police have renewed their appeal to help find a man with links to Hull who once stabbed a Manchester United player.

Robert Rimmer, 37, is wanted in connection with an ongoing drugs investigation in the Hull area. Rimmer, originally from the Ashton-Under-Lyne area of Manchester, has links to Hull, Cheshire, Liverpool and Blackpool. He also has links to the Middle East.

The public have been warned not to approach Rimmer should they see him and instead call 101 quoting crime reference number 20900368291. The 37-year-old was previously jailed in 2013 for repeatedly stabbing former Manchester United player Ronnie Wallwork in a VIP lounge in a bar in Manchester city centre.

A Judge at Manchester Crown Court called it an ‘extreme eruption of violence’ and claimed Rimmer could have killed Mr Wallwork when he attacked him with a fish knife. He was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for the offence. Humberside Police said: “Detectives are renewing their appeal to locate wanted man 37-year-old Robert Rimmer, can you help?

“Officers are keen to speak to him in connection with an ongoing investigation into drugs related offences in our area. Robert is originally from the Ashton-Under-Lyne area of Manchester but has known links to Hull, Cheshire, Liverpool and Blackpool. He also has links to the Middle East.
