17th April 2020KCOM community grants
The KCOM Community Grants scheme will be opening to applications on 1st July 2020.
If you live in Hull or the areas of East Yorkshire where KCOM provides telephone and broadband services then you can apply for a grant. The application must be on behalf of a local community group, charity, voluntary group, club, school or a non-for-profit organisation, however you do not have to be employed by them.
The grant can be used for the benefit of people and organisations within the Hull area. It can be used for specific purchases or to hold an event or run activities. Previous grants have been used to stage poetry competitions, run community based weight loss programmes, purchase sports equipment and to buy school books – there are many ideas and clubs that the scheme will support. Grants must be used within 6 months of being awarded.
Every three months the community panel – made up of KCOM employees who live and work in the region – considers every application received during the period and selects six finalists.
Once the successful finalists have been decided, the voting is open to the public for two weeks to decide the winners.
