Man charged with assault following his arrest

Joshua Priest (22) of Redmire Close in Hull has been charged with assaulting two police officers during his arrest in the early hours of Sunday 6 September.

The two officers, a police constable and a sergeant, were attempting to arrest Priest as he was suspected of an assault earlier in the evening.  The officers suffered injuries to their faces however thankfully neither were seriously hurt.

Joshua Priest has been charged with two counts of assaulting emergency workers, one count of obstructing a police officer in the execution of their duty and of criminal damage cause to one of the officers spectacles during the assault.  He has been bailed and is due to appear at Hull Magistrates Court on 19 October 2020.
