Matthew’s Hub are recruiting a part-time Peer Mentor for 16hrs per week.
The successful applicant will support autistic people and those with ADHD to help better understand their neurodiversity through the sharing of lived, academic and worked experience.
Some of the following duties will be:
- Deliver peer mentorship sessions to individual members focusing on the impact autism has on their life and / or to improve their quality of life.
- Listen to, advise, support and guide members.
- Identify and support the implementation of reasonable adjustments
- Signpost where appropriate to other relevant services
- Where appropriate share one’s own lived autistic experience
- Plan appropriate activities
- Advocate on behalf of members while promoting the concept of self-advocacy
- Attend team meetings and meaningfully engage in group and individual supervision
