Between Monday 12 February and Sunday 18 February 2018 sealed knife bins will be located at the following police stations: Beverley, Bridlington, Goole, Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Hessle Road and Osbourne Street stations in Hull.
This means that you can simply walk in to any of these stations and drop your knives in the bin, with no requirement to fill in any forms or speak to any staff member.
Chief Inspector Paul Butler, overseeing the knife amnesty for Humberside Police, said: “This amnesty is an opportunity for people to hand in knives and blades.
“We will dispose of them for you in a safe and secure manner. No questions will be asked, even if the knife is banned.
“We use various tactics to locate knives that have fallen into the wrong hands – but we need the public’s help.
“This campaign is about getting as many knives off our streets as possible, every knife handed in is one less that can be used to harm or threaten our communities.”
