Notice of Road Closure – Tour de Yorkshire

Prepare for morning commute and likely travel disruption.

This Thursday sees the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race in the East Riding.

The key area for disruption is that the A164 will be closed between Beverley town centre and Skidby from 8.15am – 9am

Travel in the East Riding will be disrupted throughout the day with roads between Beverley and Hornsea experiencing severe travel disruption in the afternoon.

The women’s race starts at 8.40am with the official start on the A164 at 8.50am. To accommodate this the A164 will be closed from 8.15am to 9am

The men’s race starts at 1.50pm from Beverley town centre and heads to Hornsea before looping back through Beverley and out along the A164, at around 3pm – this will not require the long-term closure of the A164 but needs to be considered if you are collecting children from schools in Beverley.

Please plan your route well in advance in order to minimise disruption to your journey – information attached.
