It’s not too late to register for Lifestyle 2017 and spend your summer making a difference in your community!
Humberside Police asked some of this year’s Lifestyle teams to tell us a bit about themselves and their projects.
Four friends from Scunthorpe make up the team Funky Friends who will be raising money to help make a difference for the patients at Lindsey Lodge Hospice. They decided to support the hospice after one of the girls visited her grandad there and learnt about how much it costs to run.
The Fabulous Four from Ferriby plan to spend their summer designing and printing a comprehensive, colourful scootering guide to Hull and East Yorkshire to be available in libraries, children’s centres and schools. The girls want to help encourage children to get fit and active whilst also enjoy
ing their local area.
Next we have the Hospital Heroes who will be dedicating their summer to raising money for the Acorn Children’s Ward at Hull Women and Children Hospital. They then plan to use the money to buy games and resources for the play room, put together activity packs for the children on the ward, decorate the ward with displays and organise craft sessions.
Lifestyle is a project where 10 to 18-year-olds get together teams of up to five friends, decide on a project that will improve their local community – and then make it happen.
There are loads of fantastic prizes on offer for the most successful projects undertaken. These include: a week in South Africa, a trip to Disneyland Paris, UK adventure holidays, days out at Flamingo Land and Tockwith Racecourse and many more.
The closing date for registering teams for this year’s Lifestyle project is 31 July 2017.
