22nd April 2022Reporting of derelict properties

There is currently over 684,000 Empty residential properties in the UK.
UK Housing Crisis is working with local authorities, businesses, charitable organisations and communities across the country to promote and broker long-term solutions to the nationwide shortage of quality affordable homes by tackling the problems arising from long-term empty properties in the private sector.
Are you aware of any empty or derelict residential or commercial properties in your area?
Want to see something done about them?
Why report an empty home?
Empty homes are a wasted housing resource, they attract vandalism, anti-social behaviour; become an attraction for crime and a target for arson. In most cases they become run-down, fall into disrepair, have overgrown gardens, look ugly, blight an area and cause neighbouring properties to lose value by up to 20% (RICS).
You can report empty properties to us by simply completing the online form at: https://www.ukhousingcrisis.org.uk/report-it-to-us and we’ll take care of the rest.
Or email: reportit@ukhousingcrisis.org.uk
Please give as much information as possible:
i.e., the full address of the property – name and contact details of the property owner(s) if known – brief description of the property i.e. house or factory etc, and add photos if possible.
