The George A. Moore Foundation was founded in 1970 by Mr. Moore, initially as a welfare fund for the hundreds of people employed in his factories. This grant making charity continues to operate from the monies which were privately invested by the Moore family.
Over the years the charity has provided much needed support to thousands of charitable organisations, both large and small, operating in many different spheres – from education to health and armed forces to community and sporting projects.
Grants are now provided exclusively to charities based in the Yorkshire area, supporting the local community.
