12th August 2022The Tree Council’s Branching Out Fund is open to applications
Branching Out is an umbrella term for all The Tree Council’s Community Tree, Orchard and Hedge planting grants.
Grants of between £200 and £2,000 (excluding VAT – successful applicants will be responsible for paying any applicable VAT costs which cannot be covered by the grant) are available to Community Groups, residents’ groups, small, registered charities, community interest companies, constituted groups, incorporated organisations, Tree Warden networks or schools.
Applications may be made for trees, hedges, orchards, or any combination of these. Key requirements of this fund are that there is strong community involvement, and that children and/or young people up to the age of 21 are involved in the planting, and ideally the planning and aftercare of the project. It is expected that where groups do not have experience or expertise in tree planting that they access advice to do so, for example from local Tree Wardens, local authority arboricultural officers (Hull City Council has an Urban Forestry Department) and specialist charities such as The Orchard Project and Hedgelink which is hosted by The Tree Council..
Read the guidance and find out how to apply on the grants page of theTree Council website.
The fund is open until the end of National Tree Week Sunday 4 December.
