Together Women provides holistic services to women and girls with multiple and complex issues across Yorkshire, Humberside and the North West of England. They offer safe, women-only spaces from which key workers and sessional staff provide needs assessment, action-planning, support and case management for women referred by a number of different agencies. They also provide a wide range of group programmes, sessional training, workshops and self-help groups. Women can access mentoring support from trained volunteer mentors and are encouraged towards personal growth and development.
This role is to lead on the Comic Relief, Violence Against Women and Girls contract which supports women as they recover from domestic abuse. It covers the organisation’s sites in Hull and East Riding. The successful candidate will also be required to attend HMP New Hall on a rota basis to engage with women prior to their release.
The successful applicant will engage with and provide intensive support to women suffering from domestic abuse; offering one-to-one support and group work, guidance, information and signposting, and therefore contributing to an improvement in the well-being of the woman and facilitating the opportunity to break free from the abuse. Together Women aims to raise aspirations, build confidence and self-esteem, as well as providing access to education, training and employment, housing etc that will aid the woman’s recovery.
The successful applicant will be a qualified and experienced IDVA. She will be expected to be proactive in building a network of partners who can offer specialist support to the women that they are working with, develop their knowledge of relevant service provision that can be helpful to the women and be proactive in driving the service forward. This is a specialist role within our team.
Together Women’s core working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. However, there is an expectation of flexibility; on occasions there may be possible evening and weekend work and early start times, for which time off in lieu is provided.
Together Women wish to restrict the post of IDVA to females using the GOQ in s9 (2) (e) and s9 (2) (f) of the Employment (Sex Discrimination) Act 2000.
