1st May 2019Tour de Yorkshire 2-5 May 2019 – In our area 2 & 4 May 2019
This Thursday and Saturday sees the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race in the East Riding.
The race is in our area on Thursday 2 May as the men’s race goes from Doncaster to Selby and on Saturday 4 May as both the men’s and women’s races start in Bridlington and ends in Scarborough.

Officers and PCSOs are on duty throughout the day in key towns – say hi and if you need help or assistance just ask.
Make sure you wave to the police outriders, they love their jobs and saying hi to the crowds along the route makes their day!

The key areas for disruption on Thursday 2 May is that the Market Place in Pocklington will be closed between 1pm and 6pm.
Other than that there are parking restrictions on the whole route and a rolling road block which is likely to cause an estimated 40 minute delay as the race passes through.

On Saturday 4 May the focus moves to Bridlington where both the men’s and women’s races will start outside The Spa. South Marine Drive and part of Kingston Road will be closed to vehicles from 6pm on Friday 3 May until 6pm on Saturday 4 May.
The race will be managed using rolling road closures rather than long-term closures.
Most of the rolling road closures will last no more than 40 minutes apart from the start and finish lines.
Road closures will be managed by the police, and closures and travel restrictions have also been advertised on affected routes via signage and variable message signs.

Full race and route information is available on the Tour de Yorkshire website: https://letour.yorkshire.com/
