Claire Hawley (35) of Weeton Way, Anlaby was found guilty of robbery and attempted robbery when she appeared at Hull Crown Court, yesterday (Tuesday 12 January 2022)
Kevin Duthie (30) of Legard Avenue pleaded guilty to both charges at an earlier hearing and appeared in court for sentencing yesterday.
On 26 July 2021 the pair had lured a man on Hessle Road and forced him at knife-point to withdraw money from a cash machine. They later went on to a property on Boulevard in Hull and stabbed the occupier in the arm and attempted to rob him before fleeing.
When they appeared in court Kevin Duthie was sentenced to serve 12 years in jail and Claire Hawley was sentenced to eight years.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Bradley said, “We are pleased to see this pair get strong sentences for their crimes.
“These two incidents were terrifying for the victims and both feared for their lives.
“Kevin Duthie and Claire Hawley were dangerous offenders and will now be off the streets of Hull making it a safer place for everyone.”
