Young People’s Peer Mentoring Project Worker (HeadStart Hull)

Cornerhouse are seeking a dynamic, innovative worker to support young people to become peer mentors to enable them to support 10-16 years old to develop ‘grit’ and resilience and improve their emotional health.

HeadStart is a funding stream from the Big Lottery Fund (BLF) which aims to build resilience and improve the emotional health of adolescent young people. HeadStart funding is intended to help equip young people to deal better with difficult circumstances in their lives, so as to prevent them experiencing common mental health problems before they become serious issues.

The Young People’s Peer Mentoring Project will enable young people to offer one to one support and befriending to their peers aged 10-16 within schools and the community.

The project will be based with Cornerhouse (Yorkshire)

Hours of work: 20 per week

Salary: NJC Scale 5 point 23 – 25 (£21,650 pro rata)
