Youth Sessional Worker
Newground – Kingston upon Hull
£8.45 an hour – Part-time
Working for Newground on the Ings Estate in Hull, we are looking to recruit 2-3 Sessional Workers to assist in the effective delivery of youth and community programmes in the local area.
These roles are to work with an established team encouraging young people to participate in a wide range of activities, workshops and programmes. Youth Work techniques are used in an informal learning environment which will help them to establish supportive networks, make positive choices and develop greater self esteem and confidence as they transition into adulthood.
Experience of working with children and young people is a necessary attribute for these roles along with an ability to support the delivery of a wide range of activities catering for a diverse range of young people with varying backgrounds and abilities. Such as Sports, arts and informal education workshops. Enthusiasm and the ability to communicate with young people, community members, partner agencies and others is essential.
We are recruiting 2-3 sessional workers and the hours are 3-6 hours per week, working on 3 hour sessions. We work with young people predominantly outside of school time so successful applicants need to be available to work 1-2 evenings per week and weekends.
