You are cordially invited to attend a free online workshop on Cyber Crime (Online Safety), Fraud and Scams Awareness on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 1 pm to 2 pm!
This workshop is being hosted by V4CE in collaboration with the Derbyshire Police, facilitated by Cyber Protect Officer & Cyber / Digital PCSO Samantha HANCOCK & Sarah DUFTON from the Derbyshire Police.
The workshop is open to the public and free.
It is important to attend cybercrime awareness workshops because cybercrime is a growing problem that can affect anyone. Regardless of age or technical expertise. Cybercriminals often target vulnerable people, such as children and the elderly, because they may be less likely to be aware of the risks or less able to protect themselves.
Cybercrime can take many different forms, including phishing scams, malware infections, and data breaches. These crimes can have a devastating impact on victims, both financially and emotionally.
By attending a cybercrime awareness workshop, you and the members of your communities can learn how to protect themselves and your/their loved ones from these threats. You will learn about the most common types of cybercrime, how to identify them, and how to avoid falling victim. You will also learn about the steps you can take to protect your personal and financial information online.
Here are some specific reasons why it is important to attend a cybercrime awareness workshop:
- To learn how to protect yourself from online scams, such as phishing emails and fake websites.
- To learn how to avoid malware infections, which can steal your personal information or damage your computer.
- To learn how to create strong passwords and keep them safe.
- To learn how to keep your personal information safe on social media and other online platforms.
- To learn what to do if you become a victim of cybercrime.
By attending a cybercrime awareness workshop, you can help protect yourself and your loved ones from these crimes. You can also help to make the internet a safer place for everyone.
The workshop will be facilitated by Cyber Protect Officer & Cyber / Digital PCSO Samantha HANCOCK & Sarah DUFTON from the Derbyshire Police.
