Another cycle lock posted out today!

The cycle theft and target hardening initiaitive is still in full swing with another Hull victim of cycle crime investing in a new lock.

The team at the Neighbourhood Network are working with Humberside police to target harden cycle in Hull and the wider area of Humberside.

The initiative is part of a two pronged process where the Neighbourhood Network are supplying the quality locks and Humberside Police are providing education and advice on how best to secure your cycle against theft. 

Providing a quality lock

The cycle locks are tested by the police approved “Sold Secure” rating and using this quality assurance we have chosen an approved lock, which has a gold rating against attack. This lock is a Sterling double locking D Lock, reference 272S.

 Providing education

Humberside are providing advice on:

  • How to lock a cycle
  • Why there is a need to use quality locks, which will resist reasonable levels of attack.
  • Whereabouts you should leave your cycles
  • How to secure a cycle at home
  • Why you need to be able to identify a stolen cycle
  • Why you should register any new cycle on www.Immobilise.com
