10th January 2024HOPE (Hull’s Orchard Park Estate)

Working in partnership with statuary agencies and other organisations, the wider HOPE project originated from a community consultation undertaken on the Orchard Park estate during the summer of 2023 amid heightened concerns among residents at the time, around crime. The project has its own logo which represents different areas of the estate within its lettering and was designed by local school children.
In the last two years the project has seen a fantastic partnership approach from all those involved which collectively has made HOPE a leading project across the city, tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, making Orchard Park a safer place for residents to live. The project enables services to be more visible on the estate, addressing crime related issues and building relationships with residents. The estate has seen new CCTV and lighting, street clean ups, new green spaces, community events, youth events and additional work to tackle anti-social behaviour.
Since late 2024 the Neighbourhood Network team have had a regular presence on Orchard Park talking to residents, promoting Neighbourhood Watch, hosting regular ‘Safer you’ sessions giving away FREE crime prevention equipment, organising community litter picks, joining in with other organised events in the ward, hosting menopause cafes, sharing key community messages across social media platforms and designing and distributing a HOPE newsletter.
