‘Lock it or Lose it’ – Cycle Crime Reduction Project

Theft of bikes is a current cause of concern, with thousands being stolen across the Humberside Policing area every year. This is one area where crime prevention can have a massive impact and a small personal investment of a sold secure lock can drastically reduce your chance of becoming a cycle crime victim.

Neighbourhood Network is working in partnership with Humberside Police to raise awareness about cycle crime and promote better bike security. As part of this initiative, we’re distributing Sold Secure Gold-rated D locks at low cost. These locks provide strong protection against theft, helping more people keep their bikes safe and secure.

The locks are priced at £20 each, however, if you have previously been a victim of cycle crime AND you can provide your police log number, these can be sold to victims of cycle crime at an even lower rate of £17.

Humberside Police have invested in the Bike Register scheme, where the registering of cycles can currently be done FREE of charge if attending one of the organised events. Humberside Police are holding a variety of bike register events across the Humber region, to get your bike registered, keep an eye out for one of their events.
